ResMed has observed that prolonged and repeated use of an ozone device may eventually cause internal damage to a ResMed machine, leading to an increase in motor noise. The ResMed limited warranty excludes damage to ResMed machines caused by use of ozone devices.

You should clean your machine weekly. The following can be used as guidance for cleaning your machine; full cleaning instructions can also be found in the machine’s user guide.

How to clean your CPAP machine

Time it takes: 5 minutes

Supplies you’ll need to clean your machine:

Sink or tub
Warm, drinking-quality water (86°F / 30°C)
Mild soap
Clean towel
Weekly step-by-step cleaning tips:

Unplug the machine. Wash the water tub and air tubing in warm water using mild detergent. Do not wash in a dishwasher or washing machine.
Rinse the water tub and air tubing thoroughly and allow to dry out of direct sunlight and/or heat.
Wipe the exterior of the device with a dry cloth or towel.

Based on recommendation, your CPAP machine should be replaced approximately after 5 years of use to ensure that you receive the best results possible for sleep apnea therapy.

Regarding the AirSense™ 11, the upgraded system also consumes less power to provide these new features: The AirSense™ 11 runs on a 65-watt power supply unit, compared to the AirSense 10's 90-watt unit which means much better power consumption and efficiency when in operation.. The AirSense™ 11 can be used with any of ResMed's existing CPAP masks. We have also included a video highlighting the five primary differences between the AirSense™ 10 and the AirSense™ 11.

The device will work without water in the water chamber but you'll need to insert the empty water chamber into the device and turn humidification off in the “My Options” menu. For the best CPAP experience, we recommend using distilled water in the water chamber.
