Why Lofta was built

Lofta's founder lived with undiagnosed sleep apnea for years. Getting answers meant multiple doctors, a referral to a sleep center, a two-night in-lab sleep study, and then a CPAP machine handed over in a box with little guidance on how to use it. He found the process slow, disjointed and lonely, and he started Lofta to fix it.

His stated goal was to change the diagnosis and treatment journey so people get on therapy faster and stay on therapy longer. Lofta was launched with a streamlined path from screening to treatment that most customers can complete in about a week, from home.

The problem Lofta addresses is large. An estimated 40 million Americans have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and roughly 80% of them are undiagnosed. Untreated OSA is linked to heart disease, stroke, depression, daytime fatigue and drowsy-driving crashes. Many people who do start CPAP stop using it because they get little support in the first weeks.

How the Lofta care path works

Lofta's core offering is a single connected path. Each step happens remotely.

1. ScreeningAn online health questionnaire and a short telemedicine video call, usually under five minutes, with an independent medical practice that reviews the customer's history and approves the home sleep test.
2. TestingA WatchPAT™ One device from ZOLL Itamar is shipped to the customer's home. The customer wears it for one night in their own bed, and the data is sent automatically for review.
3. DiagnosisA board-certified sleep physician interprets the results and issues a personalized Sleep Report. If sleep apnea is diagnosed, the report includes a prescription and a therapy recommendation. If the medical team needs a retest, it is free.
4. TreatmentThe customer chooses a treatment path: CPAP (the most common), an oral appliance through Lofta's network of licensed providers, or doctor-guided GLP-1 weight-loss care through Lofta partners. Lofta ships CPAP equipment directly.
5. Ongoing supportLofta's sleep coaches and help with setup, mask fit, pressure adjustments and compliance reporting, most fully through the LoftaCare program.

Services

Lofta Home Sleep Test

An at-home sleep apnea test that includes screening, testing and physician diagnosis. It uses the WatchPAT One, an FDA-cleared, Type 3 disposable home sleep test that is worn on the wrist with a finger probe and chest sensor, and has been validated against in-lab polysomnography (PSG). It measures true sleep time, sleep stages and central sleep apnea as well as obstructive events.

The Sleep Report covers true sleep time, Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI), Respiratory Disturbance Index (RDI), Oxygen Desaturation Index (ODI), pulse, snoring, body position and sleep stage statistics. Results from the test can be used to prescribe CPAP, oral appliance therapy or GLP-1 care. Lofta also offers variants of the test for people pursuing oral appliance therapy or eXciteOSA, and a dedicated version for DOT-regulated drivers.

LoftaCare

Lofta's CPAP therapy coaching and support program. LoftaCare matches the customer with a personal sleep coach and gives access to Lofta's sleep coach team for the first year of therapy. It includes a Jump Start coaching call, remote monitoring of nightly therapy data with device setting adjustments, daily therapy reports through ResMed myAir, on-demand compliance reports, a 60-night success guarantee on the device, 60 nights of free mask exchanges and returns, extended device protection, and discounts on future supplies. Lofta reports 90% CPAP compliance after 90 days among LoftaCare customers.

RxExpress CPAP prescription renewal

An online service for existing CPAP users who need to renew an expired or lost prescription without an in-person visit or new sleep test. The customer completes a questionnaire and telemedicine visit with a licensed physician, and the renewed prescription is sent digitally. Eligibility requires a sleep apnea diagnosis within the past 10 years and current CPAP use. If the physician cannot issue a renewal, the fee is fully refunded. RxExpress prescriptions are accepted by most cash-pay CPAP retailers but may not be accepted by insurers without prior authorization.

Customers who already have a valid CPAP prescription can submit it to Lofta and buy equipment without testing.

Programs for businesses

Lofta Direct is Lofta's business offering. It builds sleep apnea programs for employers, DOT-regulated fleets and associations, and primary care clinics.

• Employers: free sleep health webinars from Lofta's clinical team, an online screening tool for employees, at-home sleep testing, CPAP equipment ordering, and LoftaCare therapy and compliance support. Programs can use an insurance path or an employer-subsidized cash-pay path that includes compliance reporting.
• DOT drivers and fleets: a Home Sleep Test for DOT drivers that produces documentation drivers can submit for OSA requirements, followed by CPAP compliance reporting to support medical card renewals. About 28% of commercial truck drivers have sleep apnea, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
• Associations: in February 2025 Lofta partnered with the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association (PMTA) to offer its members at-home testing, CPAP therapy support and education.
• Primary care and specialty clinics: Lofta works with primary care providers on screening and diagnostic programs. In 2025 Lofta partnered with Bloom Mental Health, a Colorado psychiatric care provider, to add home sleep testing to Bloom's patient assessments.
