The idea came from a local magazine, asking a few local architects their proposal for a new location for the " Maison de la Danse". We came with the idea that the most unexploited site in Lyon, on the religious hill of Fourvière, was the best location for a new dance center. The project is dug in the hill, not interfering with the famous church or the view from the hilltop. In an unusual dialogue between religion and body expression art, the building shares the incredible view, adding night usage to the usually rather silent church hill.
